Welcome to Ireland's biggest public library. We are  a Fingal County Council library  situated in Dublin west. Our aim is to provide free and equal access to informational, educational and cultural resources in book and electronic formats. Membership is free and is open to all residents of Ireland. Members enjoy access to a vast array of lending and reference materials as well as many services and activities.

Location

The library is in the Blanchardstown Centre complex. You will find us opposite the blue entrance of the main shopping centre ( the entrance where McDonalds and Argos are). All the buses that serve the centre stop at this entrance. The bus numbers 39 and 70 serve the centre from Dublin city centre.

To Join...


Smartest Card

For all lending cards two forms of identification must be produced, one of which must contain your name and current address. Acceptable forms of identification are; utility bill, driving licence, bank/credit card statement, children's allowance book or tax correspondence.

Adults 18+ can join on their own guarantee with two forms of identification.

Adults 15 - 17 years old need a guarantor to sign their application form and need to provide one form of name and address identification of the guarantor. 

Young Adults 12 - 14 years old need the parent/guardian present to sign the consent form for a Young Adult card.

Juniors need name and address identification of the guarantor.

A Reference card for 18+ year olds can be obtained with photo identification. This is not a lending card but does give access to the computers.

There is no registration fee.

Fines are charged at 35 cent per week or part of week on overdue items
