Public Library,     Blanchardstown Centre

If your idea of a library is a musty dark shelf lined building housing a large collection of dusty books and reference tomes then think again as you enter the Blanchardstown Library on the west side of the retail complex.  Free and immediate membership is offered to all people living or working in the Dublin area on production of identification and completion of an application form.  What could be simpler?

Information, educational and cultural material are available to borrow or browse in the reading room on conventional and electronic formats.  What makes this library facility any better than the regular pick and borrow establishments we are used to?  Simple answer in one word ‘Multi-functional’.  Here the member can access a computerised catalogue to establish the whereabouts of almost any published material in any language or format and then locate the publication or request that the material be ordered if not available on the premises.  Internet access is free as is access to many public and specialised on-line data bases.

Fully equipped meeting rooms are available to local groups for lectures, classes, presentations, book launches and just about any other appropriate event requiring specialised facilities.  This beautiful facility is well worth a visit, the opening times are;   Mon-Thurs:

10am-8.30pm: Fri-Sat: 10am-5pm:  Closed Sunday and bank holidays.
