The BASE Enterprise Centre Limited was established in 1995 to build a purpose designed enterprise centre in Mulhuddart serving the Greater Blanchardstown area. The Centre currently provides incubator units for start-up enterprises in their first three years but a more substantial second phase of 22,000 square feet will be open in early 2004. The Centre took in its first resident company in March 1999. By end December 2002, 24 companies had been established through BASE. The Centre is, and has remained full since December 2000. In 2002 16 companies operated through BASE employing 42 people. BASE itself employed 12 staff and managed 3 Full-time Job Initiative participants. A total of 57 people were therefore employed by or in the centre in 2002, a very high contribution to the local economic activity.

BASE is a unique social enterprise and has proven one of the most successful such ventures in Ireland. BASE has also been awarded the Excellence Through People Award recognising the quality of staff service and commitment to their clients.

Dochas is one of a number of voluntary groups committed to providing a listening service to those bereaved by suicide. We are not professional counsellors but we have undergone intensive training courses in this area. We allow people to speak of their experience and grief in a non threatening environment - we allow them to speak of the unspeakable.

Our service is free of charge and on an individual basis. However, we are interested in facilitating group work and / or developing self help groups for those bereaved by suicide. If you would be interested in becoming part of a group lease contact us.
