Minutes of the Dublin 15 Environment Group Meeting

 

Date:                Tuesday 19^th September 2006

Time:                7pm

Present:            Maeve, Monica, Petrina, Eugene, Valerie

Absent: Maria, Deivis

 

This was the first meeting after the summer break and hence disorganized. 

 

Monica and Eugene gave an outline of the ‘Environment Ireland 2006’ conference they attended during the break.   Eugene also distributed copies of the presentations for bed time reading.

 

Valerie’s job has changed such that she will not longer be able attend the meetings as she will have other commitments for the evenings.  She would still like to stay in contact and be involved if we are running something during the day.

 

The networking was discussed.  Eugene found it impossible to get in contact with other groups during the summer – most groups split up for those months.  The task for everyone is to try and come with a list of people we would like get involved.

 

Maeve has to get the website uptodate.  

 

Email from Maria re the Tolka project/Abbotstown Woods:

I got a mail from Therese Casey of the Parks Dept saying that they're going to finish off clearing away the woods in Abbotstown to reinstate the footpath there. They're looking for volunteers on Saturday 23rd and 30th september, from 10 to 330.

 

The next meeting is due for Tuesday October 3^rd.  Maeve to book the room.
