Minutes of the Dublin 15 Environment Group Meeting
Date: Tuesday 3rd October 2006
Time: 7pm
Present: Maeve, Monica, Eugene, Maria, Deivis, Vera, Orlagh
Absent: Petrina
Orlagh and Vera joined the group. Vera, a lecturer with the Blanchardstown IT, hails from Germany and is happy Ireland is finally becoming environmentally aware. Orlagh works for Oracle and helped out with the Abbotstown Woods cleanup. She has practical experience in setting up seminars and as such is very helpful in advising how we go about it.
Fingal Environmental Forum FEN
This was again the main topic under discussion. Monica notes we need to drive this forward as it is zapping our energy. Orlagh noted without a clear agenda this could be a disaster.
Actions:
- Write a letter inviting intested parties to 2 meetings (7th and 28th of November) where an action plan will be created– Monica.
- Who to send the letter to: All known/contactable groups in Fingal with an environmental focus. Orlagh will google them, Eugene already has some contacts. He will maintain a ‘master’ list.
- Eugene to book county hall for Tueday evenings 7th and 28th of November.
Any Other Business
Maeve noted Fingal Co Co are piloting a scheme for Water Butts. Nobody in the group has the resources to test them but Maria is to ask her mum, who has a garden, if she would be interested. With a view to one of us writing a piece for the Community Voice.
Next Meeting:
Tuesday 17th October. Maeve to book room.
