Minutes of the Dublin 15 Environment Group Meeting Date: Tuesday 4th April 2006 Time: 7pm Present: Monica, Deivis, Frederic, Maria Absent: Maeve, Petrina, Gina, Valerie   Networking (Ongoing) Eugene joined us for an hour to finalise whether we were interested in becoming a steering group for a Fingal Environmental Network. It was decided that we would do it, and that initially the steering group would comprise approx 8 people (namely our group and maybe one or two others who might be interested). We would come up with a mission statement, framework, ideas, actions etc. and in the not too distant future it was proposed that we would then invite all relevant groups from Fingal county to attend a conference and from that form the network, with a core group at the centre of it all (to be made up of representatives from all interested parties). It was suggested that this be done before June so that the energy will be there (the longer it goes on for the more likely it is to be forgotten about), and that then we could really begin meetings in the Autumn. Eugene to attend the next meeting.   Tolka Valley Renewal (Ongoing) The clean-up is happening this Saturday from 10 to 1. All welcome! We were initially to cover the area of the Abbotstown Woodland but I’ve since been told we should head to Corduff first. Anyone who’s interested please give me a call and I can collect you and we can head together (087-133-4513).   Hanging Baskets/Seed Distribution (April) Maeve has done a wonderful article and Petrina has made a beautiful poster… well done guys!   Green Fingal Week (May) Deivis still needs trees for the Bonsai workshop. Monica suggested asking David Fennell in Fingal CoCo or asking Coillte for trees. (She has since asked Coillte and they are happy to help. Deivis to visit them in Carlow and hopefully he’ll find what he’s looking for there).   The proposed date for the next meeting is Wednesday 19th of April ( I rang the library today and they said they’re closed on the Tuesday. Does Wednesday suit everyone?) I’ll let Eugene know to come on Wednesday instead if that’s ok. The room’s booked.
